Fox Pool & Spa Services is seeking a motivated, dependable, and self-driven field service technician to join our swimming pool service team. The responsibility of a service technician is to travel to customer locations to assist with opening and closing as well as other troubleshooting and maintenance of swimming pools and spas. Pool service experience is not necessary but is a bonus. We are looking for someone who is mechanically and electrically inclined; training provided.
Seasonal service technician I
York, PA | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Seasonal full-time: March – November
Reduced hours or seasonal layoff expected December – February
As a service technician, you are a key member of our service team and a direct representative of Fox Pool & Spa Services, a Cardinal Systems company. You will travel locally to customer locations to assist with servicing and maintaining swimming pools while delivering a high level of professionalism and customer service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, learning technical skills, and working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Essential functions of a service technician
- Receive hands-on training in basic pool service, including pump replacement, salt chlorine cell replacement, pool openings and closings, water testing, and chemical balancing
- Assist with pool installation, liner installations, cover installations, equipment troubleshooting, and pool renovations
- Perform regular pool maintenance such as vacuuming, backwashing filters, and cleaning pump and skimmer baskets
- Assist with PVC plumbing repairs and replacement for pool and spa systems
- Support hot tub deliveries and warehouse item pulling, including store deliveries
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for products kept on company vehicles
- Learn and perform data entry within internal service databases
- Complete daily paperwork and report service requirements to the service center
- Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and organization at all job sites and within company vehicles
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to complete assignments on schedule
- Follow all safety policies and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned by the service supervisor
Qualifications & skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous pool service, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Dependable, trustworthy, and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions, pay attention to detail, and problem-solve
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and advance within the organization
Physical requirements & work environment
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
- Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to active construction sites, customer properties, and moving equipment
- Overtime may be required during peak season
