Job description

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a registered dietitian for 8-12 hours per month—primarily remote via telehealth!

Join our dynamic team at RD Nutrition Consultants LLC, a leading dietitian nutritionist consulting firm providing expert services to healthcare facilities nationwide. We are currently looking for a passionate registered dietitian to be a part of our growing team for a part-time position in the area for a hybrid-remote assignment.

Schedule and compensation

Schedule: Flexible, Monday-Friday during normal business hours with only 1 onsite visit per month and the remaining hours completed remotely via telehealth.
Hours: 8-12 hours per month (80% remote)
Compensation: $30.00-$36.00 per hour, based on experience.
Commute compensation: Paid at your hourly rate for travel time to and from the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, including identifying potential for disordered eating behaviors, nutritional deficiencies related to substance use, and the impact of medications used in addiction treatment.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, considering substance use history, co-occurring mental health conditions, and the impact of medications on appetite and metabolism.
  • Provide group nutrition education and counseling.
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to optimize outcomes and address any challenges to treatment adherence.
  • Address weight-related concerns and support patients with weight management challenges, considering the potential impact of substance use on weight and body composition.
  • Screen for and address disordered eating behaviors, including early identification and intervention for individuals at risk, recognizing that substance use disorders often co-occur with eating disorders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with all relevant regulations and HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Current state licensure or certification (if mandated by the state).
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations, assess objectives, develop, implement, and monitor effective plans for improvement.
  • Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions.
  • Familiarity with state survey processes and adherence to nutrition care regulations.
  • Competency in electronic charting systems.
