Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled certified weld inspector to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and compliance of welds across manufacturing processes, adhering to industry standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and FDA regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analysis skills, and proficiency with precision measuring instruments and vision inspection systems. The certified weld inspector will play a critical role in maintaining the highest quality standards through rigorous inspections, audits, and data collection to support quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough weld inspections using calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vision inspection systems to verify weld quality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform quality audits and inspections in accordance with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, CGMP, HACCP, and FDA regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision measuring instruments for detailed analysis of welds and components.
- Document inspection results accurately through data collection systems and prepare detailed reports for quality assurance records.
- Identify non-conformances or defects in welds and collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
- Participate in quality management reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with quality systems and QA/QC procedures, maintaining a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Certified Weld Inspector certification (CWI) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience with quality control, quality inspection, and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Calypso software, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, CGMP, HACCP, ISO 9001 standards, and related quality systems.
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately for quality assessments.
- Experience conducting quality audits and managing QA/QC documentation.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes related to welding operations and quality management principles.
