Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description: Ensure the reliability and efficient operation of all electrical systems within the luncheon meat manufacturing facility; Install, maintain, and repair troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems; Ensure that production processes run smoothly and safely.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment, including motors, generators, switch gear, and lighting.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize downtime
- Install, calibrate, and upgrade electrical components and systems as necessary to enhance efficiency and safety
- Execute repairs and replacements of electrical components, such as wiring, circuit breakers, and control panels, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Modify, program, and fault-find Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- configure, and troubleshoot control systems used in production equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history, ensuring all work is documented properly
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards, identifying and addressing potential electrical hazards, and participating in safety programs
- Work closely with the production staff to ensure the continuous operation of electrical systems.
- Audit and manage inventory levels for critical electrical components like sensors, relays, contractors, and heating elements.
Educational and Personal Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and control systems
- Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial automation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong commitment to safety practices and compliance
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team
- Willingness to work on a flexible schedule and respond to emergency call-outs
Desired Candidate Profile
A degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related field is a plus
Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
