<p>Our client a telecom company are seeking, an Aftersales Technical Support Engineer with strong expertise in diesel generators, diesel engines, and their control systems. The successful candidate will provide remote technical support to customers and field service teams by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of diesel engine mechanics, generator operation, and maintenance practices, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and technical reporting skills, as well as the ability to conduct structured troubleshooting sessions remotely via video calls and other digital communication platforms.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide remote technical support for diesel generators and related equipment.</li><li>Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults using a systematic troubleshooting approach.</li><li>Conduct live troubleshooting sessions with customers and field technicians through video calls and other remote communication tools.</li><li>Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective corrective actions.</li><li>Support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities when required.</li><li>Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, service manuals, and engine documentation.</li><li>Prepare clear technical reports, including findings, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and recommendations.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex or recurring technical issues.</li><li>Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.</li><li>Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and product support to customers and internal teams.</li><li>Travel locally or internationally when required.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree or Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.</li><li>2-3 years of experience in diesel generator technical support, maintenance, or aftersales service.</li><li>Hands-on experience in the Operation &amp; Maintenance (O&amp;M) of diesel generators is mandatory.</li><li>Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generator control systems, alternators, protection systems, and mechanical components.</li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical report writing.</li><li>Familiarity with diagnostic and measurement tools, including multimeters, clamp meters, and standard mechanical hand tools.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-up skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.</li><li>Fluency in English and French is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.</li><li>Experience in the telecom power industry is considered an advantage.</li></ul>
