<p>Job Summary
The Lead Fiber Optic Network Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, deployment, and optimization of large-scale fiber optic infrastructure supporting ICT, smart city, and mission-critical communication systems. The role ensures robust, scalable, and compliant network architecture with high availability and redundancy, aligned with international telecom standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fiber Network Design & Engineering
Lead the design and development of fiber optic network architectures including long-haul, backbone, metro, FTTx, and Optical Distribution Network (ODN) systems
Perform optical link engineering including power budget analysis, attenuation, dispersion, and splice and connector loss calculations
Develop duct bank layouts, fiber routing plans, manhole and chamber layouts, and GIS-based fiber network maps
Technical Documentation & Deliverables
Prepare detailed design packages including single-line diagrams, splicing diagrams, OTDR acceptance criteria, and as-built documentation
Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQs), technical specifications, method statements, and engineering design reports
Deployment & Field Engineering
Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities including OTDR, OLTS, and iOLM testing
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical fiber faults and define fiber repair procedures and SOPs
Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with civil, electrical, ITS, and ICT teams to ensure integrated design delivery
Liaise with utility authorities and stakeholders for approvals, permits, and interface management
Standards, Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with international standards such as ITU-T (G.652/G.657), TIA/EIA, IEEE, NEC, and local telecom authority requirements
Maintain adherence to safety, environmental, and project-specific regulatory requirements</p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer & Communications Engineering or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in fiber optic network design and implementation
Strong expertise in optical and transport technologies including PON, DWDM, CWDM, SDH, and MPLS
Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure, telecom operator, or smart city projects
Proficiency in fiber design tools, GIS platforms, AutoCAD, and OTDR analysis
Good communication and presentation skills

ITS & Smart Systems Design
Lead the design and engineering of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) subsystems including ANPR, adaptive traffic control systems, Variable Message Signs (VMS), CCTV, traffic sensors, tunnel systems, ATMS/SCATS, emergency phones, and related smart mobility systems

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain function for a group of companies of industrial manufacturing. The role requires an experienced industrial supply chain professional with strong exposure to gypsum manufacturing, construction materials, metal profiles, silica, glass, and fleet acquisition, as well as information about production line purchasing of industrial and pharmaceutical products.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will ensure the uninterrupted flow of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished products while maintaining optimum inventory levels, competitive procurement practices, and efficient logistics operations.
