<p>We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Engineer – Bridges to join our team in Beirut. The role focuses on the design and analysis of bridge structures, supporting international infrastructure projects, particularly in the Middle East.
The Lead Engineer – Bridges is responsible for developing bridge designs across concept, schematic, and detailed design stages, with strong expertise in both concrete and structural steel bridge systems. The role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions that meet client requirements, regulatory frameworks, international standards, and multidisciplinary coordination requirements.
The jobholder contributes to the preparation of design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and tender documentation, while collaborating closely with project managers, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders to successfully deliver bridge design projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the structural design of bridge projects across concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
Design and analyze pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete bridges, including cast-in-place box girder structures.
Perform the analysis and design of structural steel bridge systems, including steel girder, box girder, and composite bridges.
Develop structural models and perform analysis using MIDAS Civil or other bridge design software.
Ensure bridge designs comply with international standards and codes, including AASHTO LRFD and Eurocodes.
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications required for project deliverables.
Coordinate bridge design requirements with multidisciplinary teams and support discussions with clients and stakeholders.
Contribute to value engineering and optimization of structural solutions.
Support the preparation of tender documentation, including technical specifications and Bills of Quantities.
Review design deliverables, address technical comments, and mentor junior engineers.
Provide technical support during construction stages, including responding to RFIs and resolving design issues.</p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with specialization in Structural Engineering.
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in bridge design engineering.
Proven experience in the analysis and design of bridge structures, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete systems.
Strong experience in the design of structural steel bridges, including steel girder, box girder, and composite bridge systems.
Experience in post-tensioned concrete bridge systems, particularly large-span box girder bridges.
Experience with segmental bridge design methods is highly desirable.
