ESCWA supports member States in strengthening competition frameworks, improving market performance and building analytical and institutional capacities. Within the Economic Governance, Development Planning and Regulatory Modernization workstream, the Competition Policy portfolio combines regional policy dialogue, country-level technical assistance, market studies, capacity-building and knowledge products, in collaboration with national authorities and regional and international partners. Competition-based market studies are an important part of this work. They examine market structure, supply chains, business practices and regulatory conditions to identify constraints affecting competition. Within this portfolio, ESCWA is supporting the Sultanate of Oman through an extrabudgetary (XB) project on the building materials sector and its implications for competition. The study examines the sector across production, imports and distribution, including market concentration, supply and demand conditions, and institutional and regulatory arrangements. ESCWA seeks to engage a National Research Consultant to support the compilation, organization and verification of the project’s data and documentation. <br>Role Overview
<br>The Training Coordinator supports the coordination and delivery of Forward MENA’s training activities and serves as a key learner-facing role.
<br>In this role, day-to-day work flows through a structured dual-reporting model: the coordinator reports to the Senior Training Coordinator for daily activities, task updates, operational workflows, and weekly progress updates, while reporting to the Project Manager for administrative line management, project milestones, overall performance, and resource alignment.
<br>The position manages daily communication with learners, monitors their progress, and ensures smooth training operations. Most interactions take place through phone calls, official managed WhatsApp channels, email, platform messaging, online webinars, and in-person outreach activities (university visits, NGO sessions, information sessions, career fairs) to support learner engagement and programme visibility.
<br>The coordinator acts as a Student Success Lead, guiding learners throughout their journey, motivating them to complete their courses, and supporting them in overcoming challenges. The coordinator is expected to understand the programme's employability objectives and tailor learner support based on individual needs, challenges, and career goals.
<br>This role ensures learners receive timely support, accurate information, and a positive experience that contributes to Forward MENA’s mission of improving employability and earning potential.
<br>Note on Working Hours: Primary operations take place during business hours; however, this position requires schedule flexibility to occasionally work outside regular office hours (e.g., hosting evening webinars, providing off-hour learner follow-ups, or supporting weekend outreach events).

<br>Key Responsibilities
<br>1. Learner Coordination & Communication
<br>· Serve as the main point of contact for learners across assigned cohorts.
<br>· Manage daily learner communication (WhatsApp via managed tools, platform messages, email).
<br>· Support onboarding, orientation sessions, and cohort kick-offs.
<br>· Follow up on absences, engagement issues, or learner inquiries promptly.
<br>
<br>2. Student Success Lead
<br>· Guide learners to maintain engagement and complete their training.
<br>· Monitor progress and proactively follow up with learners falling behind.
<br>· Identify dropout risks and escalate when needed.
<br>· Adapt communication and intervention strategies to each learner's progress, motivation, and barriers to maximize engagement, certification, and employment outcomes.
<br>· Build meaningful relationships with learners through coaching, encouragement, and accountability to support successful program completion.
<br>
<br>3. Training Operations & Logistics
<br>· Coordinate logistics including materials, platforms, schedules, and trainer communication.
<br>· Ensure training content, links, and materials are prepared and shared on time.
<br>· Host online sessions (including occasional evening sessions as scheduled), track attendance, and provide basic technical support.
<br>· Execute in-person outreach activities (university visits, NGO sessions, information sessions, career fairs) to support learner engagement and program visibility.
<br>· Maintain accurate trackers, attendance records, and session logs.
<br>
<br>4. Data Tracking & Reporting
<br>· Record attendance, progress, evaluations, and completion data accurately.
<br>· Prepare and present weekly dashboards and daily operational updates directly to the Senior Training Coordinator, with administrative summaries shared with the Project Manager.
<br>· Maintain organized documentation and databases.
<br>· Analyse learner data and progress trends to identify at-risk learners, prioritise interventions, and support continuous programme improvement.

<br>5. Curriculum & Learning Path Maintenance
<br>· Keep course lists, modules, and learning paths up to date.
<br>· Upload and organize training content on LMS platforms.
<br>· Flag outdated modules and coordinate updates as needed.
<br>· Ensure learning materials are accurate, accessible, and well-structured.
<br>
<br>6. Research & Program Improvement
<br>· Conduct light research on emerging digital skills and market trends.
<br>· Benchmark courses from other providers to identify improvement opportunities.
<br>· Support evaluation of new training content or potential providers.
<br>· Share insights to improve program relevance and competitiveness.

<br>Qualifications
<br>· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Human Resources, Digital Skills, or a related field.
