<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong> The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of warehouse operations across one or multiple distribution centers. The role ensures efficient receipt, storage, handling, picking, packing, and dispatch of FMCG products in line with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. The role safeguards inventory accuracy, optimizes warehouse space utilization, ensures product integrity (including temperature-sensitive goods), and drives operational efficiency, cost control, and service excellence across the supply chain.</p><p><strong>MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:</strong></p><p>1. Warehouse Operations Management</p><p>Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods. Ensure smooth inbound and outbound flow of products in coordination with Procurement, Sales, and Logistics teams. Supervise loading and unloading activities to ensure accuracy and prevent product damage. Ensure timely order fulfillment in line with delivery schedules and customer requirements. Implement warehouse operating procedures and ensure strict adherence by all staff.</p><p>2. Inventory Management &amp; Control</p><p>Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/WMS systems. Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) especially for perishable and FMCG goods. Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, variances, and damages. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and expiry risks. Ensure accurate labeling, batch tracking, and barcode compliance where applicable.</p><p>3. Cold Chain &amp; Product Integrity Management</p><p>Ensure proper handling and storage of temperature-sensitive products (cheese, dairy, chilled goods if applicable). Monitor warehouse temperature and humidity conditions. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Minimize product spoilage, damage, and expiry through proper storage practices. Enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards across all warehouse areas.</p><p>4. Team Leadership &amp; Workforce Management</p><p>Lead, train, and supervise warehouse teams to ensure productivity and discipline. Assign daily tasks and monitor performance of warehouse staff. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training needs. Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork. Manage shift planning, attendance, and workforce allocation based on operational needs.</p><p>5. Logistics Coordination &amp; Distribution Support</p><p>Coordinate with the transport and sales teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery. Optimize loading plans to maximize vehicle utilization and reduce logistics costs. Ensure proper documentation for all outbound shipments. Resolve delivery issues, shortages, and discrepancies in coordination with stakeholders. Support route planning and order prioritization when required.</p><p>6. Health, Safety &amp; Compliance</p><p>Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Enforce proper use of PPE and safe warehouse practices. Maintain clear emergency procedures and safety signage. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP principles (where applicable).</p><p>7. Warehouse Systems &amp; Technology</p><p>Oversee use of ERP/WMS systems for stock control and reporting. Ensure accurate and timely data entry for inventory movements. Drive digitalization and automation of warehouse processes. Generate warehouse performance reports and KPIs for management review. Ensure system integrity between warehouse, sales, and finance data.</p><p>8. Cost Control &amp; Operational Efficiency</p><p>Monitor warehouse operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Optimize space utilization and warehouse layout design. Reduce handling time, labor inefficiencies, and operational waste. Implement continuous improvement initiatives . Control inventory losses, damages, and shrinkage.</p><p>9. Supplier &amp; Internal Coordination</p><p>Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for inbound deliveries. Liaise with sales and customer service teams for urgent orders and priorities. Work closely with finance for stock valuation and audit requirements.
