Job Purpose
<br>The Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of Beit Kanz, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, proper reconciliations, and compliance with internal financial procedures.
<br>The Accountant works closely with the Chief Accountant and supports the preparation of financial reports, account reconciliations, supplier and customer accounts, cash and POS controls, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
<br>
<br>Key Accountabilities
<br>1. Accounting Operations
<br>• Perform general ledger accounting activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
<br>• Prepare and post journal entries on a timely basis.
<br>• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
<br>• Perform regular reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
<br>• Identify and report discrepancies and follow up on required corrections.
<br>• Assist the Chief Accountant with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
<br>• Prepare account analyses and schedules as requested.
<br>• Ensure transactions are properly classified and recorded under the appropriate accounts and cost centers.
<br>
<br>2. Cash, POS and Restaurant Reconciliation
<br>• Perform daily cash reconciliations and ensure that cash collections are accurately recorded.
<br>• Reconcile daily restaurant sales with POS reports, cash collections, card payments and other payment methods.
<br>• Investigate and report any discrepancies identified during daily reconciliations.
<br>• Monitor petty cash balances and ensure timely reconciliation and replenishment.
<br>• Verify that all cash movements are properly supported and documented.
<br>• Coordinate with the restaurant operations team regarding any sales, cash or POS discrepancies.
<br>
<br>3. Bank and Payment Processing
<br>• Assist with bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding reconciling items.
<br>• Prepare payment vouchers and verify them against invoices, purchase orders, approvals and other supporting documentation.
<br>• Ensure that payments are properly authorized before processing.
<br>• Maintain proper filing and documentation of payment transactions.
<br>• Support the Chief Accountant in preparing payment schedules and following up on due payments.
<br>
<br>4. Suppliers and Customers
<br>• Reconcile supplier statements with accounting records and follow up on discrepancies.
<br>• Maintain accurate supplier accounts and monitor outstanding balances.
<br>• Follow up on accounts receivable and collections and report outstanding amounts to the Chief Accountant and relevant management.
<br>• Ensure invoices, credit notes and other transactions are properly recorded.
<br>• Coordinate with Procurement and other departments to resolve documentation or payment discrepancies.
<br>
<br>5. Inventory and Cost-Control Support
<br>• Support the reconciliation of inventory records with accounting records.
<br>• Assist in reviewing inventory movements, purchases and consumption when required.
<br>• Coordinate with the relevant teams regarding discrepancies identified between inventory, purchasing and accounting records.
<br>• Support cost-control activities by providing accurate accounting information and analyses.
<br>• Assist the Chief Accountant in monitoring food, beverage and other operational costs as required.
<br>
<br>6. Financial Reporting and Compliance
<br>• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
<br>• Provide account analyses and financial information as requested by the Chief Accountant.
<br>• Ensure that accounting records and supporting documents are complete, accurate and properly filed.
<br>• Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
<br>• Ensure compliance with Beit Kanz's financial procedures, internal controls and applicable accounting requirements.
<br>• Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, supplier and business information.
<br>
<br>7. General Responsibilities
<br>• Maintain organized and complete accounting files and records.
<br>• Coordinate effectively with Finance, Procurement, HR and restaurant operations as required.
<br>• Respond to accounting and financial queries in a timely and professional manner.
<br>• Immediately report financial discrepancies, irregularities or suspected errors to the Chief Accountant.
<br>• Contribute to strengthening financial controls and improving accounting processes.
<br>• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the Chief Accountant.

<br>Qualifications and Experience
<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
<br>• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
<br>• Previous experience in the restaurant, hospitality, retail or F&B sector is an advantage.
<br>• Good knowledge of general accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.
<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
<br>• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems.
<br>• Experience with POS systems and restaurant sales reconciliation is an advanta

<br>Beit el Baraka and Beit Kanz are seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to support the HR function across both organizations.
<br>
<br>The internship provides practical exposure to different areas of Human Resources, including HR administration, employee records, attendance and leave management, recruitment, onboarding, and HR reporting, within both an NGO and hospitality environment.
<br>
<br>Main Responsibilities
<br>
<br>- Organize and maintain employee personnel files, ensuring that HR records and supporting documents are complete and up to date.
<br>- Maintain and update HR trackers, employee databases, and other HR records.
<br>- Follow up with Beit el Baraka employees on the timely submission of monthly timesheets and maintain the timesheet submission tracker.
<br>- Review and cross-check Beit Kanz employees' attendance records, including working days, days off, annual leave, sick leave, unpaid leave, and other absences.
<br>- Maintain and update leave records and balances and follow up on missing leave requests, approvals, medical certificates, or supporting documents.
<br>- Identify any discrepancies in attendance, leave records, or timesheets and flag them to the HR Manager for review.
<br>- Support the preparation of accurate monthly attendance and leave information for payroll processing.
<br>- Assist with recruitment activities, including reviewing applications, organizing CVs, maintaining recruitment trackers, and coordinating interviews with candidates.
<br>- Support reference-check follow-up and the collection of required pre-employment documents.
<br>- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including the preparation and collection of required documentation.
<br>- Support the preparation of HR letters, certificates, forms, reports, and other HR documents.
<br>- Assist in tracking probation periods, contract expiry dates, employee documentation, and other HR deadlines.
<br>- Support the organization of employee trainings, orientations, and other HR-related activities.
<br>- Perform other HR administrative duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

<br>Candidate Qualifications
<br>
<br>- Undergraduate or graduate student in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
<br>- Previous HR or administrative internship experience is an asset but not required.
<br>- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
<br>- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
