The Mechanical Engineer is also expected to serve as a backup to the Terminal Manager when required.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>A- Maintenance & Troubleshooting:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform routine inspections and evaluations of mechanical systems, including tanks, pumps, pipelines, berth facilities, sea lines, generators, buildings, fire systems, and weighbridges.</li><li>Complete and maintain monthly maintenance log sheets.</li><li>Conduct maintenance assessments for network gas stations and prepare reports reflecting current conditions.</li><li>Identify mechanical faults and implement corrective measures to reduce downtime and improve operational performance.</li><li>Establish and oversee preventive maintenance programs to prolong equipment lifespan and enhance efficiency.</li><li>Identify and procure required equipment and resources for terminal operations.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and training to operators and maintenance staff.</li><li>Supervise tank measurements (levels and temperature) for tanks used on the previous day for control purposes, as well as for tanks scheduled for use.</li><li>Carry out unannounced inspections of tank truck loading operations, including sealing procedures.</li><li>Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of mechanical equipment.</li><li>Conduct performance testing to ensure systems operate according to specifications.</li></ul><p><strong>B- Project Management & Engineering Support:</strong></p><ul><li>Work closely with project management teams to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.</li><li>Conduct site surveys to develop cost estimates and prepare drawings for terminal projects.</li><li>Support engineering projects from initial concept through completion, including budgeting, cost estimation, and risk assessment.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives and address technical issues.</li><li>Coordinate with engineering teams, operations, and contractors to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems.</li></ul><p><strong>C- Safety & Compliance:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure and monitor the implementation of all relevant procedures and safety measures (HSE, ISPS, API, and other applicable standards) within the terminal.</li><li>Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities comply with international standards, particularly API.</li><li>Verify that all mechanical systems and equipment meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Develop operational procedures to maintain high standards of safety and quality.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.</li><li>Select appropriate materials and ensure that designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.</li><li>Organize regular firefighting drills and coordinate with Civil Defense at least twice per month.</li><li>Oversee vessel discharge operations, including documentation preparation and quantity control, in accordance with company and international standards.</li></ul><p><strong>D- Documentation & Reporting:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including technical drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications.</li><li>Prepare, compile, and present reports, technical documentation, and updates to relevant stakeholders as required.</li><li>Produce and submit regular reports to the Operations Manager.</li><li>Coordinate daily with both the Operations Manager and Terminal Manager.</li><li>Inspect new and existing station sites to prepare design proposals, estimate costs, and supervise contractor work until project handover.</li><li>Carry out any additional duties as assigned by management.</li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in heavy industry.</li></ul><p></p></section>
