The project aims to enhance the capacities of government officials and policymakers working in statistics, energy, and GIS-active research centres on using digital and geospatial tools to map and monitor solar energy data, review data snapshots and baselines, and generate KPIs to strengthen data-driven analysis and improve evidence-based policymaking for climate action and socio-economic resilience. Objective The GIS and renewable energy data analyst would review the existing data sets on detected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in Djibouti, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen; apply statistical analysis methods to improve the accuracy of the data sets; and add socio-economic GIS layers to the existing data sets to strengthen data-driven analysis and improve evidence-based policymaking for climate action and socio-economic resilience.
