Highway (road) Engineer Jobs

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and supervision of mechanical works across construction projects, ensuring that all activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. <br> <br>Responsibilities <br>Review and interpret mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documents. <br>Supervise and coordinate the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems at project sites. <br>Ensure that mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, specifications, and applicable codes and standards. <br>Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, architectural, and other disciplines to avoid clashes and delays. <br>Monitor subcontractors and mechanical teams to ensure proper execution and compliance with project requirements. <br>Prepare and review material submittals, technical submissions, RFIs, method statements, and inspection requests. <br>Conduct regular site inspections and ensure that works meet the required quality standards. <br>Monitor project progress and ensure that mechanical activities are completed within the approved schedule. <br>Identify technical issues, site constraints, and potential delays, and propose appropriate solutions. <br>Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams regarding mechanical works. <br>Review quantities, material requirements, and equipment specifications. <br>Assist in the preparation and review of BOQs, material take-offs, and cost estimates when required. <br>Ensure that all mechanical materials and equipment delivered to site comply with approved specifications. <br>Follow up on testing, commissioning, balancing, and handover of mechanical systems. <br>Prepare progress reports, inspection reports, and other required project documentation. <br>Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental requirements. <br>Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on mechanical-related matters. <br>Support the Project Manager in resolving technical and construction-related issues. <br>Requirements <br>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. <br>3–7 years of relevant experience in construction, contracting, or MEP projects. <br>Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems. <br>Good understanding of construction methods, specifications, and applicable codes and standards. <br>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings. <br>Experience in site supervision and coordination with subcontractors and consultants. <br>Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. <br>Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. <br>Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. <br>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

The Senior Proposal Engineer ensures that all proposals align with client requirements, project constraints, and company capabilities. <br> <br>Operational • Coordinate with project teams to prepare detailed, project-specific method statements for roads, drainage, utilities, and structures. <br>• Ensure constructability, execution sequencing, and methodologies are optimized for site conditions and client expectations. <br>• Suggest value engineering solutions and identify execution risks. <br>• Identify manpower, equipment, and material needs based on project scope and duration. <br>• Validate technical drawings, BOQs, and quantities for accuracy and completeness. <br>• Collaborate with planning teams to develop construction schedules and resource histograms. <br>• Prepare and review technical write-ups such as site layouts, execution strategies, construction sequences, and compliance matrices. <br>• Format and finalize engineering execution sections of the technical proposal. <br>• Participate in site visits, pre-tender meetings, and internal technical briefings. <br>• Respond to technical clarifications from clients during and post-submission. <br>• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering direct, indirect, and overhead costs. <br>• Develop unit rates using current market pricing, labor/productivity norms, and equipment utilization. <br>• Identify scope gaps or inconsistencies in tender documents and highlight commercial risks. <br>• Coordinate with the sourcing team to collect, evaluate, and integrate vendor/subcontractor quotations. <br>• Perform quotation comparisons and select competitive, compliant options for pricing. <br>• Clearly document pricing assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and contingencies. <br>• Maintain cost records and data for future reference and post-submission clarifications. <br>• Ensure all commercial documents comply with client requirements, forms, and internal formats. <br>• Finalize commercial submission documents in coordination with the proposal and technical teams. <br>• Participate in commercial review meetings and provide justifications or clarifications as needed. <br>• Work closely with technical, sourcing, planning, and document control units to align and integrate content. <br>• Ensure submission materials (technical and commercial) are internally consistent, complete, and professionally presented. <br>• Support timely delivery of all proposal components and ensure they meet submission deadlines. <br> <br>Management & Leadership • Prioritizing the tasks of the Proposal engineers. <br>• Guiding the Proposal engineers when computing direct costs, creating bid assumptions sheet and quotations comparison sheets. <br>• Highlighting proposals major risks to the proposal unit head. <br>Health, Safety, Environment & Quality • Aware of HSE company policy. <br> <br>• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent, master’s degree is a Plus. <br>• Minimum 10 years’ experience out of which minimum 5 years in Estimation. <br>• Proficient in using MS Office as minimum, Estimation tools, such as CANDY or similar software
