<p>The successful candidate will be expected to cultivate an innovation-driven culture within engineering education and to equip students with the skills needed to transform ideas into viable products and ventures. The candidate will mentor students and faculty, supervise entrepreneurship- and commercialization-oriented projects, support engineering capstone teams with venture potential, and help establish a systematic pipeline for identifying and advancing promising innovations.</p>
<p>The candidate will also identify suitable competitions, funding opportunities, accelerator programs, and innovation challenges; select and prepare participating teams; and coordinate the development of prototypes, applications, business models, pitch decks, and presentations.</p>
<p>Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate or graduate courses in engineering entrepreneurship, innovation management, product development, design thinking, technology commercialization, startup development, or related areas.</p>
<p>Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, mentoring, organizational, and partnership-development skills. Evidence of impact—such as incubators or programs established, ventures supported, student teams mentored, competition placements, funding secured, prototypes commercialized, or partnerships developed—will be highly valued.</p>

The role focuses on building sustainable training programs, including advanced and specialized courses, while also providing guidance on equipment procurement, training implementation, and operational readiness. The SME conducts assessments, site visits, and market research to ensure training and resources align with operational needs and established standards. </p> <p> <strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong> </p> <div> <ul> <li>Work with ISF to design a plan to create the structure and curriculum for advanced/follow-on courses at the academy. These courses may include but are not limited to: Leadership and Development, Advanced Investigations, Tactics, Specialized Operations, Counter Drugs, Counter Financial Crimes, Maintaining Equipment, Defensive Tactics and Use of Force, Prisons and Corrections, and Information Technology (including telecommunications), but will be based on the determination of the ISF and INL/Beirut. The ISF does not currently conduct any specialized or advanced training for their officers beyond basic training, and they are not aware of how to create curriculum for an advanced/follow-on course. </li> <li>The SME does not have to design the actual courses, but the intent is to show the ISF how to design and implement their own courses through program development, course design, and instructor development. </li> <li>Curriculum design and evaluation.<em> </em>Scenario- based training development. Academy management and best practices.
