A well known company in Africa is looking for a Mechanical / Electromechanical Maintenance Engineer-
<br>The main responsibilities will be :
<br>1. Mechanical Maintenance & Reliability
<br>• Design and execute a PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) schedule for all mechanical assets
<br>• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on filling lines, conveyors, blow moulders, pumps, and packaging machines
<br>• Perform overhauls on gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, shafts, and couplings
<br>• Monitor wear indicators and establish component replacement schedules to avoid unplanned downtime
<br>• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring mechanical breakdowns and implement permanent fixes
<br>• Manage the mechanical spare parts inventory and ensure critical stock availability
<br>
<br>2. Process & Line Engineering Support
<br>• Support production during line start-up, product changeovers, and scheduled shutdowns
<br>• Assist in optimising line speed, throughput, and fill accuracy settings on beverage lines
<br>• Ensure CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems perform within validated cycles
<br>• Validate and document mechanical parameters: pressure, flow rate, torque, temperature
<br>• Assist in qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new equipment installations or modifications

<br>3. Utilities & Infrastructure
<br>• Maintain compressed air systems (compressors, dryers, distribution) across the plant
<br>• Oversee mechanical maintenance of water treatment systems (Ektam or equivalent: pumps, membranes, filtration)
<br>• Manage boiler, chiller, and refrigeration system maintenance in coordination with specialist contractors
<br>Maintain pipework, valves (butterfly, ball, pneumatic), and hygienic fittings across product lines
<br> The electrical and automation side
<br>• Troubleshooting LV electrical panels, motor starters, and distribution boards
<br>• Working with PLC-controlled systems — reading ladder logic, adjusting parameters, understanding alarms (Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley are the most common here)
<br>• Calibrating sensors and instrumentation; diagnosing issues on VFDs and servo drives
<br>• Reading and working from electrical schematics — not just following them, understanding them

<br>In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate, competitive tenders and cost estimates for major engineering and construction projects. You will lead the estimation process, develop competitive pricing strategies, and ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.

<br>•Prepare detailed and accurate proposals for project tenders based on client requirements and specifications.
