Aspire Software is looking for an Technical Support II to join our team in Lebanon. Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

About the Role The Technical Support (Tier 2) is the person who figures out what is actually happening inside our applications when standard support processes are no longer enough. You take ownership of technical issues Tier 1 cannot resolve, investigate them through logs, data, configuration, and HTTP traffic, and determine whether the cause is a software defect, configuration problem, data issue, infrastructure fault, integration failure, or end-user issue. You sit between Tier 1 Support and our Engineering, QA, DevOps, Technical Operations, and Product teams. Tier 1 brings you the problem; you bring Engineering a diagnosis: reproducible steps, evidence, a likely root cause, and a clear statement of customer impact. You are also an early warning system, recognizing when one ticket is the first sign of an incident affecting many customers, and raising it before it spreads.

What "good" looks like in this role: issues diagnosed to a likely cause with evidence attached; escalations Engineering can act on without re-investigating; incidents spotted early and their impact stated plainly; recurring problems turned into fixes, knowledge articles, or monitoring rather than repeat tickets.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Technical Investigation & Diagnosis

Take ownership of issues escalated from Tier 1, gathering the right information from Tier 1, internal stakeholders, and clients to investigate efficiently.

Investigate application behaviour using server and application logs, SQL queries, browser developer tools, HTTP traffic, and configuration review.

Reproduce reported problems in test or staging environments, isolating the conditions (role, browser, data, configuration, timing) that trigger them.

Determine the likely cause (software defect, configuration, content/data, infrastructure, integration, or end-user) and document the evidence that supports it.

Troubleshoot integrations, APIs, data imports/exports, and scheduled jobs that connect our platform to client and third-party systems.

Identify and implement workarounds or temporary fixes that reduce the impact and severity of an issue for affected customers until the underlying cause can be resolved and clearly communicate the work and any limitations.

Maintain SLA commitments by managing the Tier 2 queue by priority and severity while quickly resolving known issues and routine requests as quick wins to keep the backlog moving.

Incident Management

Prioritize incidents and service requests by severity, customer impact, and SLA; keep clients and stakeholders informed through resolution.

Recognize patterns that suggest a broader incident (e.g., the same error across several clients) and raise them promptly through the major-incident process.

Assess and communicate customer impact: who is affected, how severely, since when, and whether a workaround exists.

Escalate to Engineering, DevOps, or Technical Operations with reproduction steps, evidence, and impact, and stay engaged until the issue is resolved.

Verify fixes and workarounds before closing, record investigation steps and outcomes in the tracking system, and contribute to post-incident reviews.

Occasional after-hours work is required during significant incidents.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as the technical escalation point and mentor for Tier 1, coaching troubleshooting techniques and better information gathering.

Work with Software Engineering and QA to clarify defects, validate fixes, and share production context that improves test coverage.

Partner with DevOps and Technical Operations on infrastructure, deployment, and environmentrelated issues.

Provide technical expertise to Product Management, Project Management, and implementation teams on configuration, client implementations, integrations, and required changes.

Continuous Improvement

Analyze support trends to identify recurring issues and their underlying causes and contribute to problem management.

Create and maintain knowledge-base articles, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides for Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Recommend changes that reduce support volume: product improvements, configuration defaults, documentation, monitoring and alerting, and automation of repetitive diagnostics.

Stay current with product releases, architecture changes, and operational procedures, and follow established security, change-management, and support processes.

Recommend changes that reduce support volume: product improvements, configuration defaults, documentation, monitoring and alerting, and automation of repetitive diagnostics.

Stay current with product releases, architecture changes, and operational procedures, and follow established security, change-management, and support processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

2+ years of application development and/or technical support experience on web-based or SaaS products.

Proficiency reading server and application logs to diagnose warnings, errors, failures, and unexpected behaviour.

Working SQL skills with relational databases: joins, filtering, aggregation, and reading stored procedures to validate data and report output.

Solid grasp of HTTP/HTTPS (methods, status codes, headers, cookies) and hands-on use of browser developer tools.

Experience troubleshooting web applications built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery, including cross-browser and responsive behaviour.

Working knowledge of REST APIs and JSON/XML payloads.

Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (sessions, cookies, roles, permissions, tokens).

Understanding of cloud-hosted applications and their common components (Azure preferred).

Strong working knowledge of Windows environments.

Basic scripting for diagnostics or automation (PowerShell preferred) and basic Git use to view history and code.

Experience working incidents and service requests in a ticketing or tracking system against priorities and SLAs, and following change-management processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to manage multiple incidents and priorities at once, and availability for occasional afterhours work during significant incidents

Result of Service
The consultant will design a study that provides a blueprint for building the RTIS, including technical and institutional aspects.
Work Location
Remote
Expected duration
2 months
Duties and Responsibilities
Background and Objective The United Nations has proclaimed the Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026–2035 to accelerate a just, low-carbon, and inclusive transition in the transport sector. The Sustainable Transport Action Plan for the decade sets targets and indicators across domains including mobility, decarbonization, road safety, accessibility, resilience, and affordability. To track progress regionally and support member states in aligning national monitoring a Regional Transport Information System (RTIS) is required. This system will collect, harmonize, validate, and visualize transport data from multiple countries, enabling evidence-based policy dialogue and progress reporting against the Decade’s goals. Currently, transport data across the region is fragmented, non-comparable, and often inaccessible. No central mechanism exists to aggregate indicators relevant to the UN Decade’s targets (e.g., GHG emissions per passenger-km, share of active mobility, road fatalities, electric vehicle penetration). Objective The objective of this consultancy is to develop a comprehensive, actionable Feasibility Study and Implementation Roadmap for a Regional Transport Information System (RTIS) that enables member states and regional bodies to monitor, report, and benchmark progress on the Sustainable Transport Action Plan 2026–2035. Duties and Responsibilities The consultant will design a study that provides a blueprint for building the RTIS, including technical and institutional aspects. The consultant shall specifically design: A- Needs and Gap Assessment Map existing national transport data systems, indicators, and reporting cycles in the region. Identify gaps relative to the UN Decade’s monitoring framework (e.g., missing disaggregation by gender/age, lack of emissions data). B- Technical Architecture Design Propose a federated or centralized data model (including metadata standards, APIs, data sharing protocols). Define core indicators: minimum set for the Decade, plus optional expansion. Specify requirements for data validation, quality assurance, and interoperability with national systems. Recommend open-source or commercially available platforms (with cost-benefit comparison). C- Institutional and Governance Framework Define roles and responsibilities: regional hub, national focal points, technical working group. Propose data ownership, access rights, confidentiality, and data sharing agreements. Outline a capacity-building plan for member states.
Aspire Software is looking for a software engineer to join our team in Lebanon.

About the role

We are hiring a mid-level Go engineer to build and operate the microservices at the core of our payments platform. You will own services end to end — from API design and database schema through testing, containerization, and production deployment — in a domain where correctness, security, and reliability are non-negotiable. This is a hands-on building role with clear ownership and room to grow into deeper platform and architecture work.

Our services are REST/JSON APIs (Gin) deployed on AWS ECS, with observability handled through internal services today. As we scale the platform, there is real room to help raise the engineering bar — introducing metrics and distributed tracing, structured observability, and stronger CI/static-analysis standards. If you like owning systems and shaping how they are built, you will have that runway here.

You will join an engineering team that uses AI-assisted development tools as a standard part of its workflow. We expect engineers to use these tools well — to move faster without sacrificing the rigor that payments demand.

What you'll do

Design, build, and maintain Go microservices (HTTP APIs, sidecars, and background processors) that handle payment authorization, tokenization, settlement, and reporting.

Write clean, well-tested Go: table-driven unit tests, mocked dependencies, and meaningful coverage on the paths that move money.

Profile and tune services for high throughput and low latency (pprof, benchmarking) — transaction paths are latency-sensitive.

Integrate with relational and NoSQL data stores (MySQL, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL); design schemas, access patterns, and migrations that hold up under load and evolve safely.

Build and consume internal service APIs, including service-to-service authentication and shared platform libraries.

Containerize services with multi-stage Docker builds and ship them through CI/CD pipelines to cloud infrastructure.

Integrate with third-party payment processors and AWS services, handling sensitive data in line with PCI DSS and our security standards (secure coding, data masking, TLS, secrets management).

Build reliability into money-movement flows: idempotency, retries, and reconciliation/settlement correctness.

Participate in code review, design discussions, on-call rotation, and incident response for the services you own.

Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) effectively and responsibly as part of day-to-day work.

Requirements

3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with production Go experience among them (mid-level seniority).

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Solid command of Go fundamentals: concurrency done right (goroutine lifecycle, channel discipline, context-driven cancellation), interfaces, error handling, modules, and the standard library.

Experience building and consuming RESTful HTTP APIs, ideally with a Go web framework (we use Gin).

Working proficiency with SQL databases (schema design, queries, transactions) — we use MySQL with sqlx.

Comfort with Docker and CI/CD pipelines as part of a normal development workflow.

Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in real project work — and good judgment about when to trust, verify, and override their output.

Strong testing discipline and the habit of writing maintainable, reviewable code.

Clear written and verbal communication, a collaborative and ownership-driven mindset, and comfort working in an agile/iterative team onsite.

Preferred qualifications

Payments / fintech background — payment gateways, card processing, tokenization, PCI DSS, fraud, or financial transaction systems (strongly preferred).

Hands-on AWS experience, especially DynamoDB, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS, SSM Parameter Store, ECS, and ECR.

Experience with microservices and distributed-systems patterns (service-to-service auth, sidecars, idempotency, retries, observability).

Familiarity with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and/or PostgreSQL in addition to MySQL.

Experience with secure handling of sensitive data: encryption (AES, KMS), JWT, secrets management, and secure-coding practices (OWASP, data masking, TLS).

Payments-domain depth: settlement/reconciliation, idempotency, card-network/scheme familiarity, fraud, or financial transaction systems.

Experience introducing observability (metrics, distributed tracing, structured logging) and/or CI quality tooling (static analysis, linting) to a growing platform.

Database schema migration and API versioning experience.

JavaScript / TypeScript / React — a plus. Our admin and merchant UIs are React 19 + TypeScript + Vite; full-stack contribution is welcome but not required.

Experience working in or migrating from a legacy/monolith system toward a modern service architecture.

Our tech stack

What you’ll actually work with, based on our current codebase.

Language: Go.

Web framework: Gin (gin-gonic/gin); some legacy services on raw net/http. REST/JSON (not gRPC).

Data: MySQL (go-sql-driver/mysql, jmoiron/sqlx), DynamoDB (AWS SDK v2), PostgreSQL (lib/pq); Redis and Memcached for caching.

Cloud & deploy: AWS — ECS, ECR, DynamoDB, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS, ACM, SSM, SES, Cognito (AWS SDK for Go v2).

Auth & crypto: internal SvcAuth service-to-service auth, JWT (golang-jwt/jwt), golang.org/x/crypto, AES encryption.

Testing: Go's testing, stretchr/testify, DATA-DOG/go-sqlmock.

Build & deploy: Multi-stage Docker (golang ? scratch), Makefiles, GitLab CI (Docker-in-Docker), images to private ECR.

Frontend (a plus): React 19, TypeScript 5.6, Vite, MUI, Redux Toolkit, Formik, Jest + React Testing Library.

Engage with colleagues across departments to identify system integration points and dependencies, and develop high-level solution proposals, including scoping master data, reporting, access, and provisioning requirements.

Document requirements to the highest standard, including business architecture diagrams, use case definitions, and as-is / to-be process and flow charts.

Act as team leader for the Business Analysts team: oversee their work, set priorities, and review their day-to-day activities on projects.

Contribute to shaping AI-enabled features within the product, partnering with Tech, Dev, and Data teams to define requirements, validate feasibility, and translate AI capabilities into user value.

Act as Subject Matter Expert and Product Liaison to the Tech/Dev and QA teams throughout design, build, and release.
