Role Description

We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the design, coordination, and delivery of HVAC (air conditioning and heating) and domestic hot water systems across our building projects. This is a contract, on-site role based in Beirut Governorate, Lebanon.

The engineer will be responsible for producing mechanical designs and drawings, performing load calculations and equipment selection, and coordinating with the broader MEP and construction teams to ensure systems are integrated correctly and installed to specification. This role carries more autonomy than an entry-level position — you will be expected to manage your own design deliverables, review contractor submittals, and support junior engineers where needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and size air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and domestic hot water systems in line with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and pipe sizing, and prepare associated schedules.
- Produce and review mechanical drawings and technical documentation using CAD/BIM tools.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, plumbing, and architectural disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure integrated design.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor documentation for compliance with the approved design.
- Attend site visits and inspections to verify installations follow approved plans and quality standards.
- Track technical issues, maintain project records, and contribute to reports and presentations for clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline) from an accredited institution.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical/HVAC design or building services engineering.
- Solid working knowledge of HVAC and domestic hot water system design, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing performed independently.
- Proficiency in reading and producing engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications; hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit required.
- Familiarity with relevant mechanical building codes, standards, and safety regulations, with an interest in energy efficiency and sustainable design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate professionally with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to work on-site and participate in site inspections and construction coordination
