Description

Aspire Software is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI) to join our team in Lebanon.

Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI), you embed directly with our businesses to design and ship AI-powered solutions against real, often messy, problems. You'll move between companies and domains — building a retrieval pipeline for one business one month, standing up an agent workflow for another the next. You own problems end to end: understand the domain, scope the solution, build it, and get it into production.

This is fundamentally a builder's role. We care far more about whether you can turn a problem into working software with modern AI tooling than about the title you held before. That means we're open to two kinds of people: experienced software developers, and senior product managers (or others from a product background) who have the technical know-how to actually build things themselves. If you can ship, and you're fluent with AI tooling, the lane you came from matters less than what you can do with it.

Why this role is different

Hard problems, real impact. The projects are demanding and technically ambitious — you'll work at the frontier of what current AI tooling makes possible, on systems people actually depend on.

Breadth no single company can offer. Across finance, logistics, education, government, and automotive, you'll see a far wider range of problems, data, and constraints than you would inside one product — and get sharp at recognizing patterns across all of them.

Latest tools, encouraged. We expect you to use the best available AI development tools and to push them hard. Experimentation is part of the job, not a side project.

Genuinely generous with tooling. This is one of the real perks of the role. Our leadership structure lets us purchase tools quickly, and we're open about which AI toolsets you use — if a tool will make you faster or better, we'll get it for you without a drawn-out approval process.

Autonomy. You're trusted to go deep into a business, figure out what's worth building, and ship it.

What you'll do

Embed with portfolio businesses to identify, scope, and build AI-powered solutions to high-value problems.

Design and build RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipelines and agentic systems that integrate with each business's data and workflows.

Integrate large language models via APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI/GPT, and others) into production applications.

Use AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude, Windsurf) and automation platforms (n8n and similar) to build and ship quickly.

Take projects from problem framing through to deployed, maintainable software.

Move fluidly between business domains, ramping up fast on unfamiliar industries and codebases.

Requirements

The non-negotiable is that you can build. Beyond that, we recognize two paths into this role:

Senior software developers — you've built and shipped real systems and can operate independently. (In rare cases we'll consider a less experienced developer who is exceptionally strong with AI tooling, but senior experience is the norm.)

Senior product managers / product backgrounds — you've worked in a product or product-management role and have the genuine technical know-how to build things yourself, not just spec them. If you can take a problem and ship a working AI-powered solution, your product instincts are a real asset here.

Whichever path you come from, we also expect:

Hands-on experience with AI-native tools such as Cursor, Claude, and Windsurf, and a genuine interest in AI more broadly.

Comfort integrating AI APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, and others) into real applications.

The ability to own ambiguous problems end to end and ship.

Adaptability — you enjoy jumping into new domains and getting productive quickly.

Nice to have

Experience building RAG pipelines in production.

Experience building agents / agentic workflows.

Familiarity with n8n or similar automation / orchestration platforms.

Exposure to any of our verticals: finance, logistics, education, government, or automotive.

Tools & technologies you'll work with

Anthropic Claude · OpenAI/GPT · Cursor · Windsurf · RAG pipelines · AI agents · n8n · LLM APIs

Developing, managing, or contributing substantially to an incubator, accelerator, pre-incubation program, university innovation hub, or technology-transfer initiative

Designing and managing structured venture-development pipelines that support teams from idea generation through technical validation, prototyping, market validation, funding readiness, and venture launch

Recruiting, selecting, mentoring, and managing cohorts of student or faculty-led innovation teams

Preparing student teams for national, regional, and international innovation, entrepreneurship, startup, and engineering-design competitions

Coaching teams in prototype refinement, business-model development, market validation, written applications, financial planning, pitch-deck preparation, and live pitching

Organizing startup bootcamps, hackathons, demo days, pitch competitions, and industry-sponsored innovation challenges

Supporting the commercialization of university research and the development of market-ready technologies

Founding, co-founding, advising, or mentoring technology startups

Securing proof-of-concept, commercialization, industry-sponsored, or venture-development funding

Developing partnerships with industry, investors, alumni, entrepreneurs, accelerators, incubators, innovation hubs, technology-transfer offices, public agencies, and funding organizations

Transforming engineering concepts into validated prototypes and minimum viable products

Applying design thinking, rapid prototyping, product-development, hardware/software integration, and product-lifecycle principles

Assessing technical feasibility, commercial viability, intellectual-property potential, market opportunities, regulatory requirements, risk, valuation, and scaling strategies

The successful candidate will be expected to cultivate an innovation-driven culture within engineering education and to equip students with the skills needed to transform ideas into viable products and ventures. The candidate will mentor students and faculty, supervise entrepreneurship- and commercialization-oriented projects, support engineering capstone teams with venture potential, and help establish a systematic pipeline for identifying and advancing promising innovations.

The candidate will also identify suitable competitions, funding opportunities, accelerator programs, and innovation challenges; select and prepare participating teams; and coordinate the development of prototypes, applications, business models, pitch decks, and presentations.

Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate or graduate courses in engineering entrepreneurship, innovation management, product development, design thinking, technology commercialization, startup development, or related areas.

Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, mentoring, organizational, and partnership-development skills. Evidence of impact—such as incubators or programs established, ventures supported, student teams mentored, competition placements, funding secured, prototypes commercialized, or partnerships developed—will be highly valued.

Local partner support and localisation

Assess MEAL and information-management capacities jointly with local partners, recognising existing systems and priorities rather than assuming that HAMAP tools should automatically replace them.

Co-develop practical, time-bound capacity-strengthening plans for partner MEAL, reporting, data management, accountability and learning, with clear responsibilities and indicators of institutional progress.

Provide coaching, on-the-job accompaniment and training to partner programme, operations, MEAL and information-management staff on indicators, data collection, analysis, evidence management, reporting and learning.

Help partners adapt donor and HAMAP requirements into manageable internal workflows, with clear roles from field data collection through validation, analysis, approval and submission.

Support partner ownership of analysis and reporting by involving partner teams in data-review meetings, interpretation of findings, preparation of reports, presentation of results and definition of corrective measures.

Avoid unnecessary parallel systems and promote interoperability between partner databases, HAMAP portfolio tools, donor reporting formats and national mine-action information requirements where relevant.

Document the evolution of partner MEAL capacity and identify where additional organisational, technical or resourcing support is needed for sustainable localisation.

4. HMA information management and analytical products

Support coherent data architecture for HAMAP-supported HMA activities, including land release, survey, clearance, EORE/CPP, training, capacity strengthening and related community-level outcomes, while respecting national standards and authority reporting arrangements.

Work with technical colleagues and partners to ensure that data-collection forms, databases, maps, dashboards, task or activity records and narrative reports use consistent definitions and can be reconciled.

Develop or improve digital data-collection and reporting tools using appropriate platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, Survey123, Excel or comparable systems, taking account of connectivity, language, user capacity and data-protection constraints.

Apply routine data-cleaning, deduplication, validation, geospatial and logical checks, and maintain controlled datasets with clear ownership, backup and access arrangements.

Produce maps, dashboards, analytical briefs and visualisations that support operational planning, programme management, donor communication and strategic decision-making.

Support IMSMA-compatible or national-authority-compatible reporting where applicable, in coordination with the Regional HMA Technical Advisor and designated country or partner information-management focal points.

Strengthen staff and partner ability to interpret HMA data, not only enter it, including analysis of reach, relevance, efficiency, quality, outcome trends and gaps in coverage.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, economics, social sciences, development studies, public policy, information management, data science, GIS or another relevant field.
