Purpose The purpose of this job is to plan, design, and implement engineering projects aligned with the ICRC s WatHab in Detention program objectives within the Beirut delegation. The incumbent will oversee multidisciplinary projects, ensuring their successful completion within the defined scope, quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints. Under limited supervision, the role involves conducting needs assessments and surveys, developing project designs, and overseeing implementation and commissioning. The incumbent will also manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, coordinate project resources effectively, and ensure timely and accurate project reporting. Result of Service<br>The consultant will enforce Trade Simulator Interface by assisting in developing a tracking and monitoring system of barriers to trade in services in Saudi Arabia and its key partners.<br> Work Location<br>Remote<br> Expected duration<br>3 months<br> Duties and Responsibilities<br>Under its technical assistance project with the Ministry of Economy and Planning in Saudi Arabia, ESCWA is hiring a consultant to support the development and strengthening of interconnected trade analysis tools by contributing to extending ESCWA’s trade negotiation and simulation tools. The tasks cover data preparation and management, analytical framework development, user-oriented interface improvements, and preparation of user guides and training materials. The objective of this consultancy is to support the development and strengthening of interconnected trade analysis tools. The following activities will be implemented by the consultant: 1. Develop a tracking and monitoring system of barriers to trade in services in Saudi Arabia and its key partners. The tracking and monitoring system will offer a unique platform through listing and displaying barriers through different forms covering legal barriers, STRI and AVEs of key barriers to trade in services with the possibility to classify them by mode of supply. 2. Refine and improve the generation of automatic briefs from running the final updated and extended GETSI developed for Saudi Arabia. 3. Prepares methodological notes, user guides, and training content to support national teams in effectively using the new trade simulation interfaces.<br> Qualifications/special skills<br>A first-level university degree in Economics or Finance is required.
